Central Coaching Out of School Club is an Ofsted registered before and after school provision based in at St Alban’s Catholic Primary School.
Each before school club session opens from 7.30am until 8.45am each day, and after school club from 3:15pm until 6:00pm weekdays, during term time.
At Central Out of School Club we provide a safe, secure and relaxed environment, offering a range of activities to reflect the interests of the children in our care.
What We Offer
Our Clubs follows the Playwork Principles, so children are free to choose activities and resources as they wish. There will always be a selection of activities and resources available, including dressing up, quiet area, craft, board games, construction, physical play, and reading. In addition, other resources are available for the children to select from our equipment library. Planned, structured activities are delivered over the course of each week. Planning is available to be seen on request.
What We Provide
At Central Out of School Club, we provide breakfast in the morning, and a snack during afternoon sessions. The food we provide at the afternoon session is not intended as a substitute for a main evening meal. We provide healthy snacks, including fresh fruit and vegetables. We promote independence, by encouraging the children to prepare their own snacks and to clear away after themselves. We use fresh ingredients and follow statutory guidelines. Fresh drinking water is available at all times. We meet individual dietary requirements and parental preferences wherever possible. We recognise the importance of healthy nutrition for children delivered in a calm, friendly setting. The snack will be provided at a set time for all children to eat together.
Each Out of School Club is staffed by the manager (BA Hons childhood studies) and the deputy manager (BA Hons childhood studies). When numbers exceed 25 at any session, an additional member of staff is supplied to ensure appropriate ratios are met.
All of our staff have significant experience of working with children and undertake professional development training. All staff members are DBS (formerly CRB) checked. We maintain a staff/child ratio of 1:8 for children under the age of eight.
Central Out of School Club enjoys a close working relationship with St Alban’s. Our planning is written in line with links to the themes being taught in school, enabling us to provide activities which support school subjects. The staff at the Out of School Club communicate with class teachers each day, to ensure there is a smooth transition between school and club life.
We were inspected by Ofsted in June 2014 and June 2017, where we received a ‘Good’ report on both occasions.
Registration packs and booking forms are available from the club room at any before or after school club session. Please contact the manager Mrs K Begum, on 07542 955 353 to arrange a visit to the club to collect any forms in preparation for your child to attend.
