The children in Reception love learning through their play. They have worked together as a team to play Hopscotch. They reminded each other of the rules and celebrated each other’s achievements.

The children in Reception spend a lot of time learning how to represent numbers using various objects, prints and drawings.

‘There are lots of towers of 4.’ ‘I have 5 towers of 6.’

Some very clever children used what they know about 3D shapes to create very interesting towers.

‘The pyramid has a point on top...it needs to be at the top.’ ‘The cubes and cuboids have flat faces...I can rest them on top of each other and make the tower tall.’

‘Look at our palace. There are 3 towers with pointy tops. The towers are where the princesses sleep.’
