The Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion 2021
Year 3 have enjoyed preparing for their Sacraments. They have shown great faith and reverence whilst deeping their faith in the Lord.
On Thursday 27th May, they participated in a Retreat Day. The children explored their own faith journey and discussed that their journey with Christ began when they were sent from God. We learnt that our journey with God never ends and we just grow closer. In the afternoon, the children gathered together in prayer to remember the Lord’s most precious gift - the Body and Blood of Christ. The children listened to the Gospel of the Last Supper and then re-enacted it, imagining they were one of the Disciples. They created beautiful pieces of art to remember the most important gift they will receive- The Body of Christ.
The children enjoyed the day immensely and as a result, have strengthened their friendships with each other and God.
First Holy Communion
The children in Year 3 received the Eucharist for the first time, the week beginning 28th June. They showed exemplary behaviour in the way they conducted themselves throughout their faith journey and showed great faith and reverence when they received the Body of Christ.
