Music at St Alban's

Teaching music can have numerous benefits for primary school children from helping with behaviour and confidence to encouraging creativity and learning skills that can be used across many subjects. Music offers pupils the opportunity for children to explore their learning, make mistakes and build confidence to develop as independent thinkers.

At St Alban's, our children have many opportunities to further their interest in music through extra-curricular activities such as; choir, singing playgrounds and Rock Steady. Our children also have the opportunity to showcase their musical skills in performances at our Christmas productions, church services, care homes services, summer fayres, assemblies and most recently in our St Alban's Got Talent show.  These performances encourage parental involvement and create valuable community links in music, as parents and children are keen to attend performances and support pupils both in school and in the local area at community events like church services and fayres.
