Spring Term Homework

On this page you will find the homework for each week during the Spring half term.

Please remember you should be reading for at least 15 minutes each night. Your planners also need to be signed each day. Golden stamps will be given out once a week, on a Friday, but unfortunately they will not be given out if your planner is not signed.

Thursday 1st April 2021

Hello Year 2!

It has been a very strange and different term for you all, with some of you being in school for the whole term, and some at home and learning online for part of it. It has been so wonderful to all be back together for the last few weeks. Well done to you all for your perseverance and hard work. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter holiday and I look forward to seeing you all back in school on the 19th April for your final term in Year 2!

Best wishes,

Miss Price

Easter Homework

Next term our new topic is called Coastlines. For your homework I would like you to make a map of the U.K. and find out what countries are in the U.K. and label them. How you present your work is up to you - be creative! You could draw it, you could use a computer, paint it, make a model. Please email me a picture of your work to year2@stalbanrc.bham.sch.uk - I can't wait to see the result of your hard work.

I have included the knowledge organiser for our topic below, which may help you!

St Alban's 42

The second part of your Easter homework is to complete our St Alban's 42 challenge for this term. You need to learn how to tie your shoelaces! You have all taken home a template and some laces to help you learn. There are a few different ways you can tie your laces - which one do you prefer? Once you've mastered it, practise on your own shoes!

These videos might help you!

English

This week in our RWI session we looked at verbs. Remember a verb is action or a doing word.

We looked at nouns earlier in the year - a noun is the name of a person, a place or a thing.

I would like you to play this game to decide if a word is a noun or a verb. There are 6 questions, have a go at them all.
