Our Curriculum Aims

Our curriculum will give children the opportunity to:

know and love God. We ensure that our children build their own personal relationship with Jesus through the experiences we provide. We enable them to have the opportunity to explore our faith, the Gospel virtues and their own feelings. We want our children to enjoy learning about themselves, others and the surrounding world. We encourage them to use imagination and creativity and reflect on experiences.

use a range of social skills to participate in the local community and beyond; appreciate diverse viewpoints; participate, volunteer and cooperate; resolve conflict. We strive for all of our pupils learn to see the face of Christ in everyone. We provide opportunities for all of our pupils to develop compassion, so that they are able to recognise and support those in need.

understand, accept, respect and celebrate diversity. We ensure our children develop the ability to appreciate cultural influences; appreciate the role of Britain’s parliamentary system; participate in culture opportunities in the vibrant city that they live in... Birmingham!

learn within a coherent and progressive framework and explore the breadth and depth of the national curriculum. We want our children to experience the challenge and enjoyment of learning and to see clear links between different aspects of their learning.

to develop a rich and deep subject knowledge and develop new skills through a variety of interesting contexts.

to possess a rich vocabulary which enables our children to communicate effectively, read with comprehension and write creatively.

recognise right and wrong and respect the law; understand consequences; investigate moral and ethical issues and offer reasoned views. Think about how their faith effects the choices they make.
