Autumn 1

Reception - Paint a self portrait

Reception have enjoyed painting pictures of themselves! Children have focused on getting to know themselves over the last few weeks. We used mirrors to help us identify our eye colour, hair colour and features of our face.

Year One ~ Using a compass

Year One went to Jasmin Fields to learn about how to use a compass.  They identified north, south, east and west and named what they could see in those directions.  They discussed that to get back to school, they had to head east.

Year 4 - sewing on a button

Year 4 learnt how to sew on a button. It required a lot of determination and perseverance to learn this valuable life skill!

Year 5

Year 5 researched ways to help other people in an emergency and designed posters to show the important steps.

Year 6 - Spend a night away from home.

Year 6 spent two nights and three days at Alton Castle, taking part in Mass, activities and prayer services.
