We create and develop every child’s lifelong interest In Physical activity as well as promote a healthy lifestyle.
Our children have a range of opportunities to compete in sport and other activities that build character and help embed the other school games values, Passion, Self-Belief, Respect, Honesty, Determination and Teamwork. We are passionate about teaching children to work together to embed life-long values.
Implementation:
How PE is taught at St. Alban's:
We provide children with weekly, high quality PE and sporting opportunities. We have developed a long term plan to allow children to develop skills across each year group starting from Reception. Children take part in 'Active days' rather than just a PE lesson to help improve their physical development, skill knowledge and their mental well-being.
We provide all children with an active lunchtime break, by giving children the opportunity to take part in a range of sports during this time. We have designated sports coaches to help children and develop their skills.
We also provide a range of opportunities for children to engage in extra-curriculur activities after school including a range of competitive sporting events across the school year.
