Mrs Rebecca McKinney
I feel that being Headteacher at St. Alban's is a privilege and I hope that this website gives you an insight into life at our wonderful school. As a parent, I understand that your children are precious gifts from God and I can assure you that your children will always be at the heart of all the decisions that I make. I encourage each child to strive for excellence not simply academically but in all areas of the curriculum and support their growth into responsible, respectful and caring individuals.
Our school mission is 'Following in the footsteps of Jesus we love, live and learn together.' As a school community we ensure that the Gospel Virtues are woven throughout our curriculum, you will see pupils and staff being compassionate and loving, curious and active, and grateful and generous. I am honoured to lead such a fantastic school where we are determined to support both children and staff as well as our local community in fulfilling their individual goals. We support our children in building their personal relationship with God through prayer and reflection. I truly believe as it says in scripture that each child is God's masterpiece.
'For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.' Ephesians 2:10
At St. Alban's we believe that a happy child is a child who will enjoy learning in a positive, inclusive and fun environment. Our aim is to ensure that each and every child fulfills their potential and is ready for the next stage in their education.
We have high aspirations for all of our children and have developed a curriculum that supports the needs of our pupils. It is rich and inspiring as well as offering a broad range of experiences and opportunities. In order to engage and enthuse our pupils’ tangible links are made across all areas of the curriculum and elements of Catholic social teaching are woven thoughtfully throughout all subject areas. Pupil and staff wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, we aim to educate the whole child in order to enable them to be the best that they can be.
St. Alban's is proud to be a part of the Tolkien collaboration. The collaboration consists of thirteen schools who work closely in partnership together for the benefit of all of our children. We are part of St. Dunstan's and St. Jude's parish in Kings Heath.
St. Alban's wants to provide an outstanding education with unforgettable memories for children within our school family. If you would like to see the school in action then we would welcome the opportunity to show you around and answer any questions that you may have. Meanwhile, enjoy our website and social media channels which showcases just some of the fabulous learning taking place at St. Alban's.
Kind regards,
Mrs McKinney
