Another wonderful week in Year 2! We have been hard at work comparing and ordering numbers, creating a poster to help us find Tom Thumb, and writing fantastic descriptive sentences all about Rapunzel! We also found time to help Mr Frosty decide what he should wrap his hands in to keep him frozen on his holiday!

We've got another busy week next week, so have a lovely, relaxing weekend and I will see you on Monday!

Best wishes,

This week in year 2 we have been very excited to start our topic work! We will be learning all about the Magnificent Monarchs! Have a look at the knowledge organiser under the curriculum tab to find out what we will be discovering this term!

We have been continuing to work on our understanding of place value and in Science we went exploring to see what different materials we could find in our school playground. This afternoon during Golden Time we enjoyed watching a film and munching on biscuits to celebrate the money we raised for Macmillan by wearing green today. Thank you for you generosity.

Have a wonderful weekend, see you on Monday Year Two!

It has been another busy week in year two!

We've still been working on recognising the place value of two digit numbers and we've been using part-whole models to help us get ready for adding and subtracting numbers! This half term we are learning about the Old Testament and this week we enjoyed looking at the story of Noah's Ark. This afternoon we looked at the different length of music notes and learnt about how music can make us feel happy  or sad . We had a bit of a dance too!

I'm really looking forward to starting our topic work next week! Can you guess what our topic is all about?

Here are some clues...

Some of these people lived a very long time ago.

Some of them are still alive today.

They all lived in England, but they might not have lived in houses like we do.

Final clue! You might see one of these people every time you buy something...

Let me know your guesses on Monday!

Have a great weekend year two, and don't forget to check the homework page for this weeks tasks!

Best wishes,

Miss Price
