Year 4 - Making a cushion

Year 4 began their D&T project by finding out about the appliqué technique, practising running stitch, backstitch and overcast stitch, before designing their own Christmas themed appliqué.
They then made a template and cut their design out of felt before sewing it to the front panel of their cushion using overcast stitch. They then sewed three sides of their cushion using running stitch or backstitch, before stuffing and sewing the final side using overcast stitch.
