Week 2 (30.03.2020 - 03.04.2020)

Next week is Holy Week, I will be uploading a range of craft activities and ideas that you may want to use at home over the next two weeks. These are not compulsory but are there to use if you wish. Please keep emailing and sending me pictures of all the amazing work you are doing at home. If you have any questions, concerns or would like some more ideas please email me at Year1@stalbansrc.bham.sch.uk.

Stay safe and have fun!

Come and visit the Zoo with Paddington Bear, and find out what happens to his marmalade sandwiches!

Life skill challenge

This week I am setting you a home learning life skill challenge.

This week I want you to help someone at home make a meal. It might be making a sandwich, baking a cake or even helping make dinner.

Cooking is a skill that your child will use for the rest of their life, and has many other benefits, too. ‘It helps her to understand food, nutrition and the benefits of a healthy diet,’ says Romilla Arber, chief executive of the Food Education Trust. ‘It also opens up social avenues and teaches independence and kitchen safety.’

Have a look at the link below which shows cookery skills by age.

Let me know how you get on by emailing me at

Year1@stalbanrc.bham.sch.uk

Good Luck!

Miss Smith

This weekend I made banana bread/cake.

I used the recipe from

https://www.tamingtwins.com/easy-banana-cake/

I can't wait to see what you get up to this week.

Have fun

Miss Smith
