February

Feast Day of the Presentation of the Lord

This feast day is celebrated every year on February 2nd. In line with Jewish tradition, forty days after His birth on Christmas Day Jesus was presented at the temple and Mary his mother was ‘purified’. He was welcomed by Simeon. On this day, the Church celebrates and prays for those men and women who have given their lives to God and made vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience. Candles are blessed at the beginning of Mass. They symbolise Christ, who is the Light of the World because Jesus was going to be a light for the gentiles.

The Feast Day of St. Valentine

We celebrated the Feast Day of St. Valentine on Monday 14th February. This feast day enables us  to celebrate the gift of love and the love God has for each one of us.

We pray that all of us feel God’s love and that we are not alone. We pray that even the loneliest in our world know that each of us is a wondorous gift from God and are precious to him.

I said a Valentine prayer for you and asked the Lord above, to fill your heart and bless your soul with the precious gift of love. I asked Him for sincere love, the kind that's meant to stay, Just like the generous love, you give to those you touch each day. I prayed for love from family and from every cherished friend, Then I asked the Lord to give you, His love that knows no end. Amen
